Every spring Minnesotans hungrily await the beautiful blossoms to appear on our apple trees, and I am no execption! This was painted en plein air on a cool late spring afternoon, in a hilly crab tree orchard near my home. I was not only attracted to the bright blooms, but also the sunlight hitting the gnarly trunks.
